Flowers & Knives
by Dervish on Sep.09, 2009, under Gazelles
On Earth, there are enemies behind every blade of grass. The knife must always be kept sharp, ready to cut and cleave the weeds that lurk amongst the garden. Flowers lead to forgetfulness. Flowers cause one to linger, and the knife to dull. The garden would be nought without the flowers, it’s true, but unless one is in the Garden of Heaven, do not fall asleep to the wonder, or one will end up nothing more than a rotting corpse destined to be food for the worms. The weeds are numerous and will stop at nothing to overrun and destroy the garden.
Time

Gravity

Death is you falling into an event horizon that came into existence the moment you were born. You may circle it, try to run away from it, or ponder it’s meaning, but ultimately, you will succumb to it’s gravity and be pulled back to the great nothing. For mortals, there is no escape velocity.

Analog Vs. Digital
by Dervish on Nov.30, 2008, under Gazelles
Analog:
Something that bears an analogy to something else: Surimi is marketed as an analogue of crabmeat.
Analog is often refered to as the representation of reality, or the real.
Digital:
Computers. Involving or using numerical digits expressed in a scale of notation to represent discretely all variables occurring in a problem. Something manipulated with a finger or the fingertips.
Digital is nothing more than the mathematical manipulation or representation of the analog reality.
